In the past week I have completed four paintings and I am working on another right now. I expect to finish it today. So, expect an art gallery on here sometime within the next few months. I will probably put it with the writing samples.

This week I sent out a letter of inquiry regarding a grant for "experimental literature." The grant is $10,000 a year and the foundation will chose 300 "semi-finalists" in June, who will then be invited to actually apply for the grant in full.
The project that I'd work on is a series of Shakespeare adaptations. I've already been writing a short story adaptation of The Tempest, and it's good fun. When I emailed my undergrad mentor to inquire about a reference, she said that she could share my stories--if I ever have time to finish any of them!--with her Shakespeare students. So, I am very excited about that idea. Even if I don't get the grant (I doubt I will get the grant) if I can find the time to finish this story, I can send it to both McSweeney's AND my mentor. Exciting!
